Jerash Festival 39 Kicks Off Under “This Is Jordan… Its Glory Continues,” Showcasing Arab, International Talent

The 39th Jerash Festival of Culture and Arts officially opened on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, under the theme “This Is Jordan… Its Glory Continues.” Held in the iconic ancient city north of Amman, the festival promises ten days of rich cultural experiences.
The opening ceremony featured performances by Jordan’s emerging star Omar Al-Abdallat, known as the “Voice of Jordan,” followed by celebrated Syrian artist Nassif Zeytoun at the South Theatre. The festival, running through August 2, presents over 235 music, cultural, and artistic events, featuring participants from more than 37 Arab and international countries, alongside hundreds of Jordanian musicians, poets, and performers.
Significant youth participation is highlighted, especially at the North Theatre, where university groups put on stage performances. The festival also includes poetry sessions, visual arts exhibitions, folk performances, and children’s theater, engaging a wide audience across generations.
Star-studded performances have enriched the lineup, including shows by Mohamed Hamaki, Ahlam, Mayada El Hennawy, Joseph Attieh, Melhem Zein, and closing with Assala Nasri. The program balances classical and contemporary Arabic music while spotlighting rising talents from Jordan and the wider region.
In an effort to modernize the event, organizers introduced enhanced festival layout—dividing main performances between the South and North theaters and additional sites within the archaeological complex to improve access and audience experience. Security and logistical measures were put in place to ensure a comfortable and smooth festival for attendees.
