Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the American actor best known for his role as "Theo Huxtable" on the iconic sitcom The Cosby Show, has died at the age of 54 following a tragic drowning accident in Costa Rica, local authorities announced on Monday morning.

According to Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Department, Warner had been swimming on Sunday afternoon at Playa Cocles Beach in the city of Limón, located on the Caribbean coast, when strong ocean currents pulled him into deeper waters. He was unable to withstand the powerful waves.

Rescue Attempts Failed Several bystanders on the beach managed to pull Warner out of the water and attempted to revive him, but all efforts were unsuccessful. The local Red Cross confirmed that he was transported to the morgue unconscious and without vital signs. Authorities have launched a formal investigation, initially classifying the incident as an accidental drowning.

Warner rose to fame in the 1980s for his portrayal of teenage son "Theo" on The Cosby Show. He later continued his artistic journey through both acting and music, taking roles in well-known series like Suits, American Horror Story, and The Resident. He also won a Grammy Award in 2015 and hosted a thought-provoking podcast titled Not All Hood, which explored issues affecting the African American community.
