After months of legal disputes, the Egyptian artist Sherine Abdelwahab has regained full control over her official social media accounts following a reconciliation agreement with her former page manager that ended the long-standing conflict.

According to informed sources, the handover of passwords and account data was completed officially in the presence of Sherine’s lawyer, Yasser Qantoush. This allows the artist to resume direct communication with her audience through platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, Telegram, and WhatsApp channel, which have been designated as her official channels for sharing news and artistic work.

The crisis began when Sherine filed an official complaint at Basatin Police Station accusing her former page manager of stealing the passwords to her accounts and extorting her financially in exchange for returning access. In response, the page manager filed a counter-complaint at Sheikh Zayed Police Station accusing Sherine of defamation and claiming he was subjected to threats and mistreatment.

Investigations and prosecution summons

Following the complaints, the relevant prosecution issued an order to summon Sherine for questioning, but she did not appear at the first appointment, leading to a second summons. An official investigation was opened, and a committee was formed to examine the circumstances, summon the involved parties, verify the allegations, and determine legal responsibilities.
