Maxim Khalil: "My heart is with our people in Sweida" Ramy Ayach: "A blatant assault and a stab in the heart of values and principles" Suleiman Aji: "I wanted to celebrate my wedding in Damascus so we could all rejoice together"

Amid the severe escalation in southern Syria, particularly in the Sweida Governorate, alongside the occupation’s airstrike today on the Damascus Army Command building, Syrian artists expressed their deep sorrow and great concern for the homeland and its people through messages of support and sympathy shared on their social media accounts.

Bassem Yakhour posted a black image on Instagram accompanied by a broken heart emoji, expressing his profound grief. Meanwhile, Maxim Khalil wrote touching words: “When the sound of bullets rises, how can the voice of reason be heard? And whoever history did not teach, 14 bloody years will not be enough for them.”

He added, “My heart is with our people in Sweida, and with every Syrian across Syria... Make way for the language of reason and wisdom, for it is the sustainable solution.”

Ramy Ayach described the insults and attacks against religious figures as a “blatant assault and a stab in the chest of values and principles,” affirming that they are “a banner of chastity, dignity, insight, and peace.”

Suleiman Al-Aji postponed his wedding

In this context, several Syrian artists shared their emotions toward the bloody events. Suleiman Al-Aji wrote in a heartfelt message on his account that he decided to postpone his wedding scheduled for Thursday, considering that celebration is not appropriate amid the martyrs in his country. He said, “I want to hold my wedding in Damascus so we can all rejoice together, but my wedding is not more important than my people, family, and nation. Sorry, the celebration is postponed; I cannot be happy while people are hurting.”

Martja, Shalfoun, and Arshid appeal for prayers for Sweida

Actress Shukran Murtaja shared a picture titled “Sweida” with prayer symbols and a broken heart emoji, commenting on the Damascus bombing: “Pray for Syria and its people... a trust.”

Mirna Shalfoun wrote, “O God, I entrust You with Sweida and its people, their safety and security day and night.”

Sawsan Arshid summed up her feelings with simple words: “God protect our people and loved ones.” Nesreen Tafesh shared a video on Instagram with prayers for Sweida, while Sark Baraka expressed her shock commenting on footage of the Damascus bombing: “I wish I had died peacefully.”

Mustafa Al-Khani: “Israel’s hand has been paralyzed”

Kinda Aloush shared a joint post from the “Raseef 22” account stating: “Those who only sympathize based on the victim’s or the killer’s identity cannot be relied upon. Either you are against the massacre whoever the victim and whoever the killer, or you have no conscience. Only living consciences build nations!” — quoted from writer Hanadi Zahloot.

Mustafa Al-Khani highlighted his pain regarding what is happening in Damascus, saying: “A thousand safeties to you, Syria, Israel’s hand has been paralyzed,” while Khaled Al-Qaysh drew attention to Sweida’s suffering under indiscriminate shelling and ongoing power outages.

Amid these tragic circumstances, Syrian artists from various regions express their deep sorrow, calling for peace and stability, and emphasizing the importance of national unity and empathy for all Syrians without exception.
