Lebanese writer and actor Tarek Soueid has officially announced his withdrawal from writing a Ramadan 2026 series, which was originally planned to star actress Maguy Bou Ghosn.

In a brief statement shared on his official social media accounts, Tarek Soueid explained that the decision was supposed to be announced in coordination with the production company at a specific time. However, the news was leaked and widely circulated in the media, prompting him to confirm it personally.

He stated: "I will not be the writer of the Ramadan series. We had agreed to announce the decision at a specific time, but unfortunately, the news was leaked prematurely and inaccurately."

He added: "I do not wish to go into further details, and I kindly ask everyone to respect my decision not to provide any additional comments or clarifications. Love you all."

Soueid received an outpouring of supportive messages from his followers, who expressed their respect for his decision and wished him success in his future projects.

Production Company Clarifies

For its part, the production company issued a statement confirming that producer Jamal Sannan and writer Tarek Soueid had mutually agreed to postpone the project to a later date, due to the need for additional time in terms of script development and production preparations.

The statement read: "Out of concern from both parties to present the project in the best possible form, it was decided to postpone it beyond the upcoming Ramadan season."
