Following the controversy sparked by his decision to delete all songs featuring the late singer Ahmed Amer, Egyptian mahraganat performer Hamo Bika broke his silence to deny rumors of his retirement from music. He affirmed his continued commitment to the industry and revealed that he’s working on major upcoming projects.
“No Plans to Retire” — Bika Responds to the Rumors
In a live video posted on his official Facebook page, Bika said: “May God have mercy on my brother Ahmed Amer. But regarding the rumors about me retiring… that’s not true at all. I have no intention to retire — not now, not anytime soon.”
He added that he’s currently working on “very strong” new material and teased upcoming surprises for his fans, saying: “I’m continuing for you and with you. It’s your love and support that made me speak out.”
Deleting the Songs Was Misunderstood — Fans Call for Him to Quit
Earlier, Bika announced the removal of all collaborative tracks with Ahmed Amer from his channel, stating: “All songs with my brother Ahmed Amer have been deleted from my channel… May God forgive and grant him paradise.”
He also urged fellow artists and production companies to remove any joint works with the late singer as a gesture of respect. However, many interpreted the move as a signal that Bika might be leaving the music scene, prompting some followers to demand he quit music altogether.
One commenter wrote: “Why don’t you quit and delete your songs too?” Another said: “You still have a chance to turn back from this path.” Bika responded briefly: “In due time, God willing… patience.”

Ahmed Amer passed away in the early hours of July 2nd following a sudden health crisis. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he died shortly after arriving.
His death sent shockwaves through the music scene and among fans, with his name trending online and messages of grief flooding social media. Notably, musician union president Mostafa Kamel paid tribute to Amer, alongside numerous mahraganat artists who mourned the loss of a beloved and uniquely talented voice.
