Karim Abdel Aziz to star in a gripping social drama series

In a new and different step in his artistic career, Egyptian actor Karim Abdel Aziz has signed on to star in an upcoming drama series set in Upper Egypt, marking the first time he portrays a “Saidi” (Upper Egyptian) character. The series is scheduled to air during the Ramadan 2026 season.

The highly anticipated project is written by screenwriter Abdel Rahim Kamal and directed by Peter Mimi. It marks the second consecutive collaboration between the trio following the major success of their previous series, "Al-Hashasheen", which aired during Ramadan 2024.

A social drama with a suspenseful Upper Egyptian twist

According to sources close to the production team, the new series will unfold in a thrilling social drama setting with an Upper Egyptian backdrop. The show is expected to feature a cast of rising stars alongside Karim Abdel Aziz, as he and director Peter Mimi are currently holding intensive casting sessions to finalize the cast.

A long-awaited return after a break

Karim Abdel Aziz was absent from the Ramadan 2025 drama season, following his last role in "Al-Hashasheen", which aired in 2024 to widespread acclaim. The series tackled the story of the notorious “Hashasheen” sect led by Hassan al-Sabbah, known as “Sheikh of the Mountain,” blending historical narrative with suspenseful storytelling.
