A heart attack brings down the curtain on the life of 'Valley of the Wolves' star

The late actor’s manager said: “I feel deep sorrow over the loss of the esteemed actor Şekip Taşpınar”

His wife added: “He visited his sister in Altınoluk two days ago, and we received the news of his death this morning due to a heart attack”

The Turkish artistic community was deeply saddened by the death of actor Şekip Taşpınar, known for his role as "Cevat" in the series "Valley of the Wolves," who passed away at the age of 56.

According to the Turkish site "Sabah," Taşpınar died on July 2 due to a sudden heart attack.

His manager, Timoz Karikutal, mourned the late actor in a social media post, saying: "I feel deeply saddened by the loss of the esteemed actor Şekip Taşpınar, whose manager I was. We shared a lot. May God have mercy on you, my brother."

His wife announced funeral details, confirming that he will be buried beside his mother in the town of Altınoluk. She wrote: "He visited his sister in Altınoluk two days ago. We received the news of his death this morning due to a heart attack. I am deeply saddened. I will also go to Altınoluk to be with him."

The funeral is scheduled for Thursday after noon prayer in the Altınoluk neighborhood of the Edremit district in Balıkesir province.

Last appearance of the late artist

Taşpınar’s last social media post was on May 9, where he shared a photo showing his thin body, writing: "I have now retired from art, not because of art itself, but because I bow thousands of times before the National Theater."

Şekip Taşpınar was born in Ankara on February 10, 1969, and graduated from Ankara State Conservatory at Hacettepe University.

He began his theatrical career in 1988 with the Ankara Halk Oyunları troupe, studied at the Ankara State Conservatory from 1990 to 1994, worked at the Ankara State Theater from 1995 to 1998, and was appointed to the Adana State Theater in 1999.

It is noted that Taşpınar underwent long-term treatment in 2023 due to alcohol poisoning.
