Artist Reda El Bahrawy announced Ahmed Amer’s death on his personal social media account, saying:

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Surely we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return). My brother Ahmed Amer has passed away. May God forgive him, have mercy on him, and grant him paradise. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.”

El Bahrawy’s announcement came just two hours after Ahmed Amer had announced his withdrawal from any upcoming artistic work due to his deteriorating health, without revealing further details.

“Sudden illness”

In a statement, Mustafa Kamel, head of the Musicians Syndicate in Egypt, said:

“All I know is that Ahmed had finished performing at a wedding in Mansoura, then headed to Cairo for another event, where he suddenly fell ill and was taken to the hospital, where he died inside Al-Mahalla hospital.”

Mustafa Kamel added:

“I am in contact with the head of the Al-Mahalla Syndicate and have asked them to visit his home and support his family... It is very painful to lose such a kind and respectful young man who was always cooperative with the syndicate. His band is devastated and expressing their grief with tears.”

A large number of festival singers mourned the late artist, including Hassan Shakosh, Hamo Bika, Omar Kamal, and Saad El Soghayar, expressing their deep sorrow over the loss of their colleague.
