Director of photography Mohsen Ahmed revealed the final moments before the collapse of the late actor Nour El-Sherif’s house in the Al-Sayeda Zeinab area.

Through his Facebook account, Mohsen described how the house suddenly shook, initially thinking it was an earthquake, but it was actually the collapse of building number 20 next to his own house, number 16. He explained that the building turned into a pile of rubble within seconds, praying that the residents would be safe.

Sadness envelops the areaAl-Sayeda Zeinab witnessed deep sorrow following the collapse of an old five-story building once inhabited by Nour El-Sherif before his marriage to actress Boussi. The collapse resulted in three deaths and five injuries.

Authorities cut off the electricity at the accident site to facilitate rescue operations and prevent electric shock incidents during debris removal. Meanwhile, the Civil Protection forces continued their search to ensure no other people remain trapped under the rubble.

Evacuation of residentsResidents of an adjacent building were evacuated as a precaution due to possible cracks appearing during the search operations, prioritizing their safety.

The Cairo Security Directorate received a report of the collapse, and security forces and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Preliminary inspections confirmed that the building was constructed in 1951. Investigations continue under the supervision of the Public Prosecution to determine the cause of the accident and to take necessary legal measures.
