Watary: The ruling in Elissa's case is not final

The company "Watery Offshore W.L.L." confirmed that the ruling issued by the Dubai Commercial Court on June 16, 2025, in the ongoing dispute with "Records-E" and the artist Elissa, is not a final judgment and does not have the authority of res judicata.
In a statement received by "Roya TV," the company emphasized that the ruling is not legally binding and does not put an end to the dispute between the parties.
Watery explained that the judiciary in Dubai consists of three levels, and the case is still under judicial procedures, meaning the ruling is subject to appeal and cassation, and does not represent a decisive decision in the ongoing dispute.
"The core of the dispute remains unresolved"The statement added that the court ruled that the agreement signed between the parties on August 12, 2022, automatically ended upon its expiry on August 12, 2023, without addressing the claims of arbitrary termination presented by "Records-E," indicating that the core of the dispute remains unresolved.
It also pointed out that the Dubai court did not issue a ruling regarding the allegations of infringement of the song "Ana W Bass" by the song "Batir," nor did it establish Elissa’s ownership of her YouTube channel, noting that these issues are currently before the Commercial Court in Beirut, which set the ruling date for October 30, 2025.
The company rejected describing the issued ruling as a "legal precedent in the Arab world," affirming that this claim lacks a legal basis specialized in intellectual property law.
The statement concluded by affirming that the company does not bear responsibility for any delay in resolving the pending lawsuits in Lebanon, placing the responsibility on the other party in the dispute, the artist Elissa.
