Hind Said Saleh: "The decision was implemented without granting the employees any legal entitlements" Hind Said Saleh: "I am sure you will not let us down"

Hind Said Saleh, daughter of the late artist Said Saleh, issued an urgent appeal to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his wife via her Facebook account, requesting their intervention to resolve the crisis of her husband, media professional Mohamed Bakri, being suddenly dismissed from his role in the Egyptian Television Development Project without prior notice or compensation.

Hind explained in her message that her husband has held prominent media positions since 2006 but was surprised on April 17, 2025, by the decision to dismiss him following the transfer of the First Channel and Egyptian Satellite Channel from the United Media Services Company to the National Media Authority.

She added that the decision was applied retroactively from the beginning of that month, without granting employees any legal entitlements such as health insurance or end-of-service compensation.

Hind confirmed that all attempts to contact officials at the United Media Services Company failed, prompting her to appeal to President El-Sisi, saying, "All doors were closed in our faces, and I found no option but to turn to the President of the Republic as a father to all Egyptians."

“Known for Professional Competence”

She pointed out that her husband contributed to establishing and launching major channels, including the Documentary Channel in 2023, and is known for his high professional competence. She also expressed the difficult living conditions the family faces, especially after losing their only source of income, noting that she has struggled for years to find a job despite holding a specialized editing certificate.

At the end of her message, Hind Said Saleh called for a fair solution to guarantee her husband’s rights, whether by reinstating him or legally terminating his contract with dignity after nearly 19 years of service. She said, “What I am sharing may not be the most important issue in the country, but it is the most important in my life, and my children’s livelihood has no other source... I am confident that you will not let us down.”
