Dua Lipa announces her engagement to Callum Turner

After months of speculation and intriguing public appearances, global pop star Dua Lipa has officially confirmed her engagement to British actor Callum Turner, during an interview with Vogue UK in its July 2025 issue.
Rumors of the couple’s relationship first surfaced in late 2024, when Dua was spotted wearing a striking diamond ring that sparked widespread speculation, prompting media outlets like The Sun to report the engagement at the time.
The magazine revealed that Turner proposed on Christmas Eve, going down on one knee in what Dua described as a “beautifully romantic” moment. Confirming the news with a smile, she said:
“Yes, we’re engaged. It feels amazing to make the decision to grow with someone, and to become best friends forever. There’s something so intimate and beautiful about that kind of love.”
A Nontraditional Ring, Designed with Heart
Dua shared that the engagement ring was not a traditional one, but a custom piece designed to reflect her personality. Turner enlisted the help of Dua’s sister Rina and her closest friends to pick the perfect design.
“I’m obsessed with the ring. It’s so me. It’s beautiful when the person you plan to spend your life with really gets you on that deep a level.”
A Chance Encounter That Turned into Destiny
Their first meeting happened at The River Café in London, when Dua was dining with her father. The introduction was made by chef Ruth Rogers.
A year later, they met again by coincidence in Los Angeles, during a dinner with Dua’s friend, poet Mustafa. She recalled:
“It was the same handsome guy from London. I was stunned when I found out we were both reading the same book: Trust by Hernan Diaz. There was an instant connection… it felt like fate.”
No Wedding Plans Yet
Although the engagement is now public, Dua clarified that they have no immediate plans to marry. She is currently on her Radical Optimism tour, while Turner is busy filming his upcoming movie.
“We’re enjoying this moment. I was never the girl who dreamed of a wedding dress or a huge party… but suddenly I find myself wondering: what will I wear?”
