Less than a month after the conclusion of the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in 2025, which took place from May 13 to 24, the festival's organizers announced the dates for the next edition—further affirming the global success of the world’s most prestigious cinematic event.

The 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to be held from May 12 to 23, 2026, continuing over 12 days of international film screenings, press conferences, and open discussions with some of the most prominent figures in global cinema, both within the official competition and other festival sections.

Key Winners of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

This year’s edition witnessed fierce competition and showcased outstanding works from across the globe. Below is the full list of winners:

  • Palme d'Or for Best Film: Un Simple Accident

  • Grand Prix: Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier

  • Best Director: Kleber Mendonça Filho for The Secret Agent

  • Best Actress: Nadia Milietti for La petite dernière

  • Best Actor: Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent

  • Best Screenplay: The Dardenne brothers for The Young Mothers Home

  • Jury Prize: Sirat, shared with Sound of Falling
