The chatbot service "ChatGPT," operated by OpenAI, experienced a sudden outage on Tuesday, with a large number of users worldwide complaining about difficulties accessing the service.
According to "Downdetector," a website that monitors online service disruptions, reports were mainly concentrated from users in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other countries.
The highest number of reports was recorded after 12 PM Riyadh and Cairo time.When attempting to use ChatGPT during the outage, users received an error message indicating a problem generating responses, with instructions to contact the help center via the link help.openai.com if the issue persisted.It is worth noting that ChatGPT serves more than 400 million active users weekly worldwide, in addition to about 10 million subscribers to the paid "ChatGPT Plus" service, according to OpenAI data from February 2025.
