The Syrian actressHanan Al-Lulu passed away on Wednesday afternoon at Al-Tiliani Hospital in central Damascus, following a long battle with cancer, in a loss that cast a shadow of sorrow over the Syrian artistic community.
Al-Loul had been diagnosed with stomach cancer, and had previously appeared in a video speaking about her health and financial struggles. Her story moved several artists to step in and help with her treatment expenses, including actress Suzanne Najm Aldeen, who publicly appealed for support on her behalf.
The Syrian Artists Syndicate mourned the late actress through its official Facebook page, writing: "Our heartfelt condolences on the passing of actress Hanan Al-Loul after a battle with illness. We belong to God and to Him we shall return."
A Career Rich in Drama and Comedy
Hanan Al-Loul began her artistic career in the late 1990s, initially appearing in minor roles before expanding her presence in a wide range of dramatic and comedic productions. Her notable works include Dunia, Enta Omri, Marzouk Ala Jami’ Al-Jabahat, Spotlight (Baqa’at Daw’), Fazlaka Arabia, Shamiyat, Kursi Al-Za’im, and Kol Shi Mashi, among others—projects that cemented her legacy in the hearts of Syrian and Arab audiences.
