"Project X" is one of the largest cinematic productions in the history of Egyptian and Arab cinema "Restart" tops the list of audience interest in Egypt

Despite the strong start of the film “Project X” starring Karim Abdel Aziz, which topped the box office charts immediately upon its release, the film unexpectedly dropped to second place, affected by a noticeable decline in daily revenues, in favor of the film “Restart” starring Tamer Hosni.

While the film earned daily revenues exceeding 3 to 4 million Egyptian pounds during its first days, the total dropped on its last night of screening to around 1.793 million pounds only, which opened the way for “Restart” to lead the box office and achieve a surprising surge in popularity.

One of the Largest Cinematic Productions

“Project X” is considered one of the largest cinematic productions in the history of Egyptian and Arab cinema, having been filmed in five countries around the world: Egypt, the Vatican, Italy, Turkey, and El Salvador. The film also used the latest filming techniques and visual and sound effects, offering an unprecedented cinematic experience to the Arab audience.

The work is written and directed by Peter Mimi, with a screenplay co-written by Ahmed Hosni. Alongside Karim Abdel Aziz, the cast includes Eyad Nassar, Yasmin Sabri, Ahmed Ghazi, Essam El-Sakka, in addition to a number of distinguished guest stars, notably Majid Al-Kadwani, Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, and Hana El Zahed.

Despite its drop in ranking, the film continues to receive wide attention from audiences, amid expectations of a strong comeback during the remaining days of the Eid al-Adha cinema season, especially with the ongoing promotional campaign and positive audience reviews.
