Adel Imam in a Hospital Bed: Doctored Image Sparks Concern Among Fans

Activists on social media circulated in the past few hours an image showing the Egyptian actor Adel Imam lying on a hospital bed, sparking a wave of concern among his fans and fueling renewed rumors about his health that have once again dominated the digital scene.
After investigations, it was revealed that the image is fake and was created using artificial intelligence techniques. The image first appeared in 2024 and was recently re-shared with comments suggesting a decline in the veteran actor’s health, causing distress among Imam’s family and fans due to the confusion such images create.
Despite this, Adel Imam’s family has repeatedly confirmed on several occasions that the actor is in good health. They described the recurring rumors as "seasonal rumors" with no basis in fact, urging the public not to be misled by false news.

Adel Imam is considered one of the most prominent stars in Arab cinema and drama since the 1970s. He has delivered a series of classic works that established his status as an artistic icon blending comedy and drama, including notable titles such as Antar Shail Seifo ("Antar Carries His Sword"), Searching for a Scandal, and Searching for Trouble, among many other successful projects spanning decades.

Throughout his career, "The Leader" has received numerous international awards from festivals such as Cairo, Dubai, São Paulo, Tribeca, Marrakech, and Carthage. In 2016, the late Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi awarded him the National Order of Merit in recognition of his artistic contributions.
Personal Life
Adel Imam graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University. He is married to Ms. Hala El Shalakani and has three children: Rami Imam, a well-known director who graduated from the American University; Sara, who is married to the son of engineer Nabil Moqbel; and Mohamed Imam, who followed in his father's footsteps as an actor and appeared alongside him as a child in the film Karakon Fi El Share'a ("Karakon in the Street").

His last dramatic appearance was in the 2020 series Valentino, starring alongside Dalal Abdel Aziz, Hamdy El Mirghani, and Dalia El Behery, written by Ayman Bahgat Qamar and directed by Rami Imam. Recently, his play Bodyguard was streamed on the "Shahid" platform after years of being banned, featuring Sherine Saif El Nasr and Roghada.
