Egyptian actor Khaled Selim revealed that he received threats from some viewers because of his role in the TV series "We Met a Lover," which aired during last Ramadan’s TV lineup. He pointed out that, for him, the hateful reactions are a sign of the show’s success right from the first episode.

Khaled Selim said in a press statement during his attendance at the "Energy Cup Drama Awards" ceremony: "I consider people’s hatred towards me in the series ‘We Met a Lover’ a success… I used to receive messages from some viewers saying, ‘We will come to your house, and don’t go out alone with Nicole because you will get beaten.’"

He added, "I am happy because the audience has become more aware and can watch the series without any disrespect to their intelligence."

The series stars Yasmine Abdel Aziz, Karim Fahmy, Khaled Selim, Nicole Saba, Anushka, Batoul Haddad, Basant Shawky, Salah Abdullah, Mahmoud Yassin Jr., and Engy Kiwan. It was written by Amr Mahmoud Yassin and directed by Mohamed El-Khubairi.

This series marks the second collaboration between Yasmine Abdel Aziz and Karim Fahmy after their great success in the series "Why Do We Love Again," which aired in Ramadan 2020 and achieved wide acclaim.
