Laith Hajjo expresses his dismay over the expulsion of four syndicate members

Syrian director Laith Hajjo has called for the seal of the Syrian Artists Syndicate to be withdrawn from its current president, Mazen Al-Natour, following the syndicate’s announcement of revoking the membership of four of its central members.

Hajjo shared a video clip on his official Instagram account from an episode of his popular series Dayaa Dayaa titled “The Seal,” in which he mocked the recent developments within the syndicate.

The video was accompanied by several images of the syndicate's recent controversial decisions, including the expulsion of actress Sulaf Fawakherji, the granting of honorary membership to artists Ahmad Al-Qassem and Fadl Shaker, the syndicate's statement nullifying the vote of no confidence against Mazen Al-Natour, and finally, the removal of artists Amal Hawijeh, Mais Harb, Mohammad Al-Rashi, and Nour Mehanna, with the appointment of actor Yousef Abdo as a new member. Hajjo captioned the post: "We kindly ask the relevant authorities (the same ones) to withdraw the seal."

Previously, Hajjo had called for the resignation of the Syrian Artists Syndicate following Fawakherji's expulsion, describing the syndicate's decisions as unjust and illogical toward major stars, while also criticizing the behavior of Mazen Al-Natour.
