Death of Yemeni Artist Arwa’s Mother After Battle with Cancer

Arwa: “I ask God to have mercy on her, forgive her, and grant her paradise”

The death of the mother of Yemeni artist and media personality Arwa was announced on Friday, after a battle with cancer.

Arwa posted on her social media accounts: "With hearts full of faith and acceptance of God’s will, my beloved mother, the late Samira Desouki Al-Shafie, has passed away. I ask God to have mercy on her, forgive her, and grant her a place in His vast paradise. Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return."

Funeral arrangements to be announced later

Arwa mourned her mother, announcing that she was buried on Friday in Florida, USA, with the condolence gathering to be scheduled at a later time.

Earlier, Arwa shared a photo of her mother lying in a hospital bed, accompanying it with the words: "Prayers change fate. I entrusted you with a trust. Please pray for my mother, may God ease her pain and relieve her suffering. Amen. Please pray for her."
