Artists turn to prayers after a "sudden earthquake" in Egypt

Mixed reactions among artists and media figures ranged from humor to seriousness. Some celebrities were overwhelmed by fear and panic due to the sudden earthquake.

On Wednesday morning, Egypt experienced a strong earthquake, which was recorded by the National Seismic Network with a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located south of the Greek island of Crete, about 413 kilometers north of Marsa Matruh.

Despite there being no casualties or property damage, the earthquake sparked a state of concern among Egyptians, and reactions from celebrities and media figures varied between humor and seriousness.

Dua Farouk: A Sudden Shock

Media personality Dua Farouk described the moment as a "sudden shock," writing on Facebook: "I woke up startled, I was about to sleep, I felt like I was falling off the bed... I heard the closet making a noise... Earthquake."

Ibrahim Faiq: The Strongest Earthquake

TV presenter Ibrahim Faiq said that he hadn't felt an earthquake of similar strength since the 1992 earthquake, writing: "Since the October 92 earthquake, I haven’t felt an earthquake as strong as the one that happened half an hour ago."

Mohamed Ramadan: No Earthquake Will Feel Like an Earthquake

Actor Mohamed Ramadan jokingly commented on the incident via his official Facebook page, saying: "No earthquake will feel like an earthquake," referring to his previous drama series Zalzalah (Earthquake).

Mohamed Henedi: "O Lord, Do Not Destroy Us with Your Wrath"

Despite his usual sarcastic nature, actor Mohamed Henedi chose to respond seriously, writing on his Facebook page: "At times like these, when everything around you shakes and terrifying thoughts come to your mind, and the 20 seconds feel like a century... He continued: "O Lord, do not destroy us with Your wrath, nor annihilate us with Your punishment. Grant us safety before that. O Lord, avert from us calamities, volcanoes, earthquakes, trials, and all misfortunes, both apparent and hidden."
