He explained that Sobhi called him from the airport, mentioning mild stomach discomfort. For two days after arriving in Germany, there were no concerning developments. However, on the morning of Friday, April 18, Sobhi contacted his sister and told her the pain had returned.

Repeated calls with no response

Anas added with sorrow: “After that, we kept trying to call him several times, but the phone would ring without any answer. That made us very worried, especially since he used to talk to our mother three or four times a day.”The family grew increasingly anxious over three days as all attempts to reach him failed.

After an intensive search, it was discovered that Sobhi was on his way to a pharmacy to buy medication for his stomach pain but collapsed before reaching it. He was taken to the hospital, where it was confirmed he had suffered a sudden heart attack that claimed his life.

Anas also noted that the number of people who attended Sobhi’s funeral was unexpectedly large, reflecting the great love and respect he had earned.
