Director Tarek El Arian surprised many with his decision to feature his wife, Nicole Saba, in all his upcoming artistic projects, citing her genuine talent in acting.

In a press statement, El Arian revealed that Egyptian actress Mona Zaki had declined to take part in the sequel to the film Snakes and Ladders, which stars actor Amr Youssef.

"Deeper than the first part"

El Arian confirmed that filming for the new version of Snakes and Ladders has officially begun, and revealed that actor Dhafer L'Abidine will not appear as a guest star, but will instead play a pivotal role in the storyline.

He added, “The film is not a continuation of the characters from the first part, but rather a continuation of the theme, exploring life after ten years of marriage with new characters.” He also pointed out that Asmaa Galal will play the female lead after Menna Shalaby withdrew due to personal reasons.

The film is set in a romantic social context and is said to be deeper than the original, as the characters have “matured,” El Arian noted, expressing hope that audiences will enjoy it.

The sequel stars Asmaa Galal and Amr Youssef, portraying the characters "Malak" and "Ahmed" in a new love story.

Amr Youssef was chosen for the role after Hany Salama declined to participate, while Hala Shiha decided to step away from acting and wear the hijab once again.
