The Tunisian artistic community was shocked by the passing of rapper Ahmed Al-Obaidi, known as "Kafon", who died on Saturday after a long battle with illness.

Kafon passed away at the age of 42, following complications from a rare disease that led to a surgical operation in which both his legs were amputated below the knees. The condition later caused vascular constriction that restricted blood flow, according to Tunisian media outlets.

Notable songs

Kafon was well known for several popular songs loved by audiences, including “Houmani” which he performed alongside Mohamed Amine Hamzaoui, achieving widespread success, as well as “Ma’lesh,” “El Ayam,” “Nheb Nelqa,” “4070,” and “Mehboula.”

His last musical release, “Sneen,” launched just a month ago, garnered great success and high viewership on YouTube.

The late artist also ventured successfully into acting, participating in several TV series such as Nouba, Kan Ya Ma Kanesh, and Harqa (Parts 1 and 2).
