According to People, her brother-in-law’s sister stated that Valeria had recently undergone a bariatric surgery and that her health began to deteriorate during the recovery process, which ultimately led to her death. She added: “She was recovering from weight-loss surgery and was very weak... she fell ill early in the morning and ended up passing away in the hospital.”

She urged the public not to speculate about the cause of death, clarifying that the official cause will be determined following an autopsy.
