The family of the late Egyptian actor Mahmoud Abdel Aziz has confirmed that he had been officially separated from media personality Boussy Shalaby since 1998, denying recently circulated misinformation about their relationship.

Actor Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, the son of the late star, released an official statement titled: “Important Statement from the Heirs of Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.” The statement noted that in recent weeks, several inaccurate and slanderous claims had been made regarding the late actor.

It said: “One woman has filed lawsuits and criminal complaints containing numerous false claims, including that Mahmoud Abdel Aziz remarried her after their divorce and that the officiant falsified the divorce certificate.”

The statement continued: “In line with the values instilled in us by our late father—respect for the law and the judiciary—we chose to remain silent, awaiting the word of the honorable Egyptian courts.”

It further explained that all lawsuits had been dismissed at all judicial levels, and the criminal complaints had been dropped, confirming the validity of the divorce document issued only a month and a half after their marriage.

According to the family, the woman's claim that she was still

married to Mahmoud Abdel Aziz until his final days is “completely false and baseless.” They clarified that since their divorce in 1998, their interaction was limited to a professional relationship, with her serving as his business coordinator and administrative manager for events and festivals.

The statement strongly rejected any defamation of the actor’s name or legacy, affirming the family's intention to avoid public conflict or social media disputes. They have authorized their legal counsel to take all necessary legal action to protect the family’s rights.

Previously, in February, Boussy Shalaby issued her own statement denying the divorce claims, calling them “entirely false.” She added that the rumors were part of a scheme involving forged documents aimed at illegally seizing a piece of land and confirmed that the matter is under legal investigation.
