Mazzen Al-Nator sends a message to those who let him down

“To those who let me down at the very beginning—before even reaching the halfway point—you actually saved me a lot, so thank you as well.” This was a message shared by Syrian Artists Syndicate head Mazn Al-Natour, expressing his deep disappointment in those who betrayed him.
Al-Natour posted a video on Instagram showing a cake adorned with his photo, the Syrian flag, and a golden crown on top, thanking those who stood by him—especially Syrian businessman Ghassan Aboud. He captioned the video: “Thank you from the heart to everyone who supported me and spoke kind words. Thank you for your love.” To his detractors, he reiterated: “To those who let me down at the beginning of the journey… You actually saved me a lot. Thank you, too.”
This comes after an exceptional session last Sunday by the Syrian Artists Syndicate, which resulted in Al-Natour’s dismissal and the appointment of singer Noor Mhanna as acting head.
However, just hours later, the Syndicate issued an official statement rejecting both decisions as invalid and lacking legal basis. They clarified that the only body legally authorized to terminate the appointment of the syndicate head is the Syrian Prime Minister’s Office, which had originally appointed Al-Natour via Decision No. 209 dated March 25, 2025, in accordance with Article 51 of the governing law.
As a result, Mazn Al-Natour remains in his position and is currently carrying out his duties as head of the Syndicate.
