Egyptian actress Gouri Bakr announced that her son has suffered a serious health setback, prompting her to end her brief break from social media, which she had

declared just two days earlier.

Bakr posted a photo on Instagram showing a hospital room with her son’s hand resting on hers, captioned: "Life isn't always rosy... A tough week filled with sadness, depression, and my son’s illness — fever, cold, and stomach inflammation."

She opened up about her emotional state, writing: "So many battles... but I’m trying to stay strong and keep going because there are people who depend on me."

Earlier, Gouri had announced a temporary withdrawal from all social media platforms, a decision that surprised her fans and followers. She explained via Instagram Stories that she was going through the most difficult psychological period of her life, and needed time to protect her inner peace.

In her statement, she shared her decision to step away from all social media for a week due to what she described as “overwhelming mental pressure.” She wrote:

"This is the start of the warrior’s rest. I can’t watch or hear what’s happening around me anymore. I can’t take the hypocrisy of people in my life — people I gave too much love, support, and friendship."

Gouri stressed that this is the hardest time she has ever faced, adding: "Literally the most difficult period of my life — unbearable emotional pressure. May God protect us and our children. I need time for myself and will not be active on social media for a week. I will delete all apps for now, but WhatsApp will still be available. Thank you all."
