"The Municipality" launches campaign to remove encroachments from sidewalks and streets - Min Hunna Nabda
The Greater Amman Municipality launched a campaign to remove concrete barriers and other obstructions that encroach upon sidewalks and roads, as part of its plan to improve traffic flow and enhance road safety. The municipality explained that placing these barriers constitutes an encroachment on public space, which is a right of all citizens, and that this encroachment reduces road capacity and leads to traffic congestion.
Through this initiative, the municipality aims to increase road capacity, alleviate traffic congestion caused by these barriers and obstructions, maintain the aesthetic appeal of the city, and reclaim the sidewalks and public spaces previously occupied by these barriers, thus facilitating pedestrian movement and ensuring public safety.
