In Ma"an Governorate, specifically in the Al-Muraighah area, truck drivers staged a sit-in for more than twenty days, protesting their exclusion from loading phosphate from the Shidiya mine to Aqaba.
The protesters told Roya that they were denied loading because they lacked official "roles" that would allow them to be included in the loading system of the Ma"an coalition companies. They demanded that the Ministry of Transport include their approximately 30 trucks in Ma"an"s phosphate truck fleet.
