- Syrian actor Ahmad Khalifa dies at 81 in Damascus

The Syrian Artists Syndicate – Damascus branch has announced the death of veteran actor Ahmad Khalifa in the Syrian capital at the age of 81.
The union said on its Facebook page: "The Damascus branch of the Artists Syndicate mourns the passing of our colleague Ahmad Khalifa.."
In another post on Monday morning, it shared details of the funeral, burial, and condolence arrangements, adding: "Farewell Ahmad Khalifa"
The late actor had a long artistic career spanning decades, during which he worked across cinema, television, and radio, leaving a notable imprint on the Syrian arts scene.
Following the announcement of his death, social media platforms were flooded with messages of mourning and condolences, with audiences expressing grief and revisiting key moments from his career.
Throughout his journey, Ahmad Khalifa appeared in numerous productions that helped cement his presence in Syrian drama, including the film “Ahlam Madina,” as well as series such as “Zorafa’ Walakin,” “Dunya,” “Bab Al-Hara,” “Yawmiyat Modir Aam,” “Asaad Al-Warraq,” “Jamil w Hanaa,” and “A’ila 6 Nojoum,” among others.
