• Three charged over Murder of man found in wheelie bin in Coventry

British police have charged three people with murder after the body of a man was discovered inside a wheelie bin.

The victim, 37-year-old Thomas Niven, was found on Friday in a park near Daimler Road in Coventry. West Midlands Police said Tammy Sturdy, 45, Camron Sturdy, 21, and Shane Turkington, 37, have all been charged in connection with his death.

All three suspects, who live in Coventry, remain in custody and are due to appear at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning. The police officially identified the victim on Tuesday following a public appeal over the weekend to determine his identity.

Niven’s family issued a statement through the police, saying: “We are all in shock and devastated. Our hearts are broken at losing Tom in such a cruel way. He was a pillar of strength for all of us. He was loving and caring, devoted to his family, and had a gentle heart for animals and his nieces and nephews.”

Police confirmed they continue to support the victim’s family and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, urging anyone with information to come forward.
