Disbursing an amount of 40 dinars for each modest family The amount will be deposited into the bank accounts of the families.
This decision did not come as a mere passing announcement; it reached homes as a real joy ahead of Ramadan, touching the hearts of modest families and orphaned households across the kingdom.
The Jordanian Zakat Fund announced the disbursement of 40 dinars to each modest family and orphaned households benefiting from the fund, in addition to distributing 12,000 shopping coupons worth 30 dinars each, as part of the fund’s Ramadan plan, a move described by many as bringing relief before the holy month.
The announcement came during a meeting of the Fund’s Board, chaired by Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Holy Places, Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, who explained that the amounts will be deposited into the families’ bank accounts along with their monthly salaries, easing their Ramadan preparations and providing them a sense of security.
Al-Khalayleh pointed out that the shopping coupons, with a total cost of 360,000 dinars, will be distributed in cooperation with the Military Consumer Corporation across several regions, along with 40,000 food parcels via Zakat committees, reaching the largest possible number of modest families during the holy month.
The plan also includes distributing Fitr charity at the end of Ramadan, delivering 15 productive rehabilitation projects for needy families at a cost of 45,000 dinars, as well as restoring 6 houses and maintaining 10 other homes for modest families, with a total cost of 45,000 dinars, aiming to provide sustainable support beyond temporary aid.
As orphans are central to these initiatives, Iftar meals will be held for around 3,000 orphans and their families across the governorates on the occasion of World Orphan Day (15 Ramadan), in addition to a special Iftar for 300 orphans and their families, with cash and in-kind gifts valued at 10,000 dinars.
At the end of the meeting, a media campaign was announced in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Holy Places to encourage citizens to give Zakat and charity, warning against any suspicious links requesting personal data under the guise of assistance, and emphasizing that information should only be obtained from official channels.
Thus, the decision was not just an administrative procedure… but a silent message of joy reaching modest families eagerly awaiting Ramadan, carrying a little worry but lots of hope.
