She added in televised remarks that upon speaking to the maid, she felt suspicious because she had seen her before but did not know when or where, so she sought help from her neighbor, an English teacher, to communicate with the maid.

He added that he continued talking to her to "buy time" until the authorities arrived, who asked him to keep her under supervision until their arrival. After investigation, it was determined that the maid was suspected of ending Huda Shaarawi’s life, and she was taken to complete the investigation.
