Syrian actress Raja Qutrash died, leaving behind a long artistic career marked by memorable performances in realistic social roles that left a lasting impression on audiences, particularly during the 1980s and 1990s.

The Syrian Artists’ Syndicate mourned her passing in an official statement on its Facebook page, noting that Syrian drama has lost an influential artist and extending condolences to her husband, actor Dr. Fouad Hassan.

Qutrash was known for her roles in numerous television series, including Al-Khawali (2000), where she played the character Umm Salhi, as well as Ashwak Na’ma, Jurn Al-Shawish, and Milh Al-Hayat, portraying maternal and popular female figures in a natural, understated style.

Her last known TV appearance was in the series Hammam Shami (2014), after which she remained absent from the screen for several years without officially announcing retirement, despite unconfirmed reports circulating on social media.
