Four university students were killed and others injured after their bus overturned on the international road linking Damascus and Homs, in a tragic incident that shook the area, highlighting public frustration over recurring traffic accidents.

The Syrian Civil Defense stated in an official statement that rescue teams, with the help of local residents, worked to transport the bodies and the injured to the hospital in the nearby city of Nabk to receive the necessary medical care.

The Syrian Meteorological Department had previously issued warnings to travelers and bus operators about the dangers of driving on the international road, especially in the Qalamoun Mountains area, due to heavy snowfall and dense fog, which caused several repeated sliding accidents on the road.
