Unknown Assailants Open Fire on a Girl and Her Brother in Rural Idlib Widespread Security Alert in the Town of Termanin

A girl lost her life and her brother was injured after they were shot by unknown assailants in rural Idlib on Tuesday, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The girl and her brother were in a car on the Dana–Termanin road when they were fired upon by unknown individuals who set up a checkpoint between the towns of Termanin and Arhab in rural Aleppo, targeting their vehicle directly.

The official agency reported that the town of Termanin witnessed a wide security alert and the deployment of internal security forces following the girl’s death and her brother’s survival.

In a related context, the town of Al-Suboura in eastern rural Hama experienced a heavy security presence last Saturday following a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others of varying severity.

Hama Governorate stated that internal security forces reinforced their presence in the town’s neighborhoods and around the market street, while the relevant authorities began field investigations to identify those responsible in preparation for referring them to the judiciary.

The governorate added in a social media post that security patrols conducted regular rounds to secure streets and vital neighborhoods and to increase readiness, in parallel with gathering evidence and following up on investigations.
