On the morning of last Thursday, the silence of dawn in Ramtha was shattered by the cries of children, their voices echoing through the small walls of the house of Mohammad Al-Bashir, known as "Abu Moamen," 36, a father of three sons and two daughters.

According to his brother Ahmed Al-Bashir, the fire started due to an electrical short in the room where Mohammad was waiting for Fajr prayer, holding his son Adham, who tragically passed away at the age of three.

Al-Bashir, speaking with a voice full of grief and sorrow, said that on Thursday morning, he heard screams from his late brother’s house, as they lived in the same building. When he opened the door, he found Mohammad’s wife and children rushing toward the exit in panic.

He added that his brother was sleeping next to his son Adham, waiting for Fajr prayer, but sleep overtook him. He noticed the heater had fallen onto the carpet, which accelerated the spread of the fire that quickly engulfed the entire room.

"Searching for his child"

According to Ahmed Al-Bashir, quoting his brother’s wife, Mohammad was desperately trying to reach his son Adham, but the smoke prevented him from seeing him amid the shocking and tragic scenes that took over the household.

Intense moments, piercing screams, spreading smoke, and flames consumed the happiness of an entire family, taking the life of the father and his beloved son, who were deeply attached to each other, according to Ahmed Al-Bashir.

Mohammad Al-Bashir, who had lived a quiet life with his family, became a symbol of sacrifice and courage, attempting to protect his child, passing away amid the flames in a scene almost unbelievable.

In silent grief and profound sorrow, the wife bid farewell to her husband and child, while the surviving children lost both their father and brother. This eternal separation was one of the most painful farewells imaginable.
