Gruesome details: Mother admits to killing her child after continuous abuse

Child’s Mother Admits to Beating and Detaining Her Son Medical Reports Confirm the Child Died from Severe Injuries
American Amanda May Maison has admitted to the death of her three-year-old son, Matthew, after he was subjected to continuous abuse over several years, seven years after the incident, according to court documents.
Maison, 33, told U.S. media outlets that she beat her son and confined him for long hours. She also encouraged her former partner, Maurice Hall, to abuse him and helped conceal the circumstances of his death from authorities.
Systematic Neglect
Autopsy results revealed that the child died from severe injuries caused by significant trauma and possibly asphyxiation. Investigations showed that he had been a victim of systematic physical abuse and neglect for several years.
The St. Clair County Police Department stated that Maison and Hall deliberately created an environment of ongoing abuse for the child and were involved in planning to hide the details of his death from law enforcement.
“One of the Most Serious Cases”
On November 5, Maison pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and agreed to testify against Maurice Hall in his upcoming first-degree murder trial, scheduled for early 2026. Authorities described the case as one of the most serious due to the severe suffering the child endured at the hands of the accused over many years.
