A Syrian man in the town of Naameh in Lebanon’s Mount Lebanon governorate abducted a Syrian girl and killed her before throwing her body into the sea
According to details, Khetam Mohammad Nawaf is 8 years old, and the man abducted her along with her brother, who is two years younger
Local media reported that the perpetrator assaulted Khetam, killed her, and threw her body into the sea. He also attacked her brother, striking him on the head in an attempt to kill him, but the boy survived
Residents of Naameh issued a statement: We strongly condemn the heinous crime that occurred today in our beloved town of Naameh, which claimed the life of an innocent girl, shook the heart of every household, and brought tears to everyone’s eyes
They considered that what happened is not a random incident but a loud warning bell ringing in the conscience of every official and every citizen concerned with the safety and stability of this town
They held “the official authorities fully responsible for this chronic negligence”, calling for “an emergency plan to reorganize the town, regulate rents and encroachments, and monitor those entering, in order to preserve what remains of safety and peace in Naameh
Lebanese authorities have arrested the perpetrator, while investigations continue to determine the motives behind this crime
