In shocking revelations, Libyan authorities have uncovered the details of a horrifying crime in the city of Benghazi, where the bodies of a father and his seven children were found shot dead inside a vehicle. This gruesome act is considered one of the most appalling crimes to recently shock and outrage Libyan society, and the incident continues to dominate social media discussions.

Official Statement from Benghazi Security Directorate In a video statement published on the official page of the Directorate, Major General Salah Howaidi, Director of Security for Greater Benghazi, explained that preliminary investigations indicate the father was responsible for killing his seven children before taking his own life with a firearm.

He added that the report came in about a car stopped on the road containing the bodies of a man in his fifties and his seven children. Six of the children were found seated in the car, while the seventh was discovered in the trunk, having died as a result of violence and abuse.

A Heartbreaking Scene The Directorate noted that the children’s ages ranged between 7 and 13 years. Forensic evidence revealed that the father shot his children in the head before ending his own life in the same manner. Investigations are ongoing with the father’s wives and other family members to uncover more details.

“Magic and Sorcery” In this context, Sheikh Al-Senoussi Al-Haliq Al-Zawi, head of the Supreme Council of the Zawiya Tribes, revealed that the perpetrator had married multiple times before separating from his wives and had engaged in practices of magic and sorcery prior to committing the crime. Sheikh Al-Haliq confirmed that preliminary investigations and statements from those close to the killer indicate a significant deterioration in his mental state, living in complete isolation after separating from his wives, with evidence of involvement in strange rituals.

The Sheikh added that the tribe is closely monitoring the investigations in coordination with official authorities, praising security efforts to uncover the crime’s details. He also warned citizens against spreading rumors or false news that could incite unrest, emphasizing that the tribe is not involved in any attempt to exploit the incident and has taken legal measures against those spreading false information to preserve community stability and cohesion.
