Tulin Al-Bakri Wishes for "Non-Material" Gifts on Her Birthday

The Syrian actressTulin Al-Bakri surprised her fans this year with an unusual request for her birthday, emphasizing that she does not want material gifts, in a message highlighting the importance of how people treat one another.
Tulin Al-Bakri shared a post with her followers on Instagram, talking about her upcoming birthday on October 25, and revealing the kind of gift she wishes for—one that is beyond material possessions.
Under an old photo of herself, Tulin wrote: “My birthday on October 25 is almost here, and for the first time, I want to ask you for my gift… It’s very precious and most people won’t be able to give it, but those who can, please do not hold back.”
“Non-Material Gifts”
She clarified that her gift this year is not something material, but rather “honesty, security, love, loyalty, and fidelity,” considering anyone who can offer these values as a treasure to keep for a lifetime.
The actress added: “I really want people to present themselves to me without masks… I know my request is difficult and almost a miracle, but whoever can give me such a gift, I will keep them in my heart forever.”
This new post is part of a series of reflective posts that Tulin has shared in recent months, reflecting her philosophical view of life. She previously wrote: “Worry, tension, and fear of what’s to come change nothing… but trust in God changes everything,” as well as: “I am a soul trying to breathe amidst a cloud of smoke,” and: “To love me is your choice, not forced… but to respect me, you must.”
Turning down several offers
On another note, Tulin expressed her dissatisfaction with the roles offered to her recently, considering some too short and unfit for her long artistic career. She emphasized that she prefers staying home rather than accepting projects that add nothing to her journey.
She also stated that she turned down several artistic offers because they did not match her professional standing, criticizing the granting of lead roles to people who “lack real talent or true acting sensitivity.”
Tulin had announced last year her decision to step back from social media to protect her mental well-being, especially from bullies and negative atmospheres, aiming to spend her time more productively.
“Saadat Al-Majnoun”
Dramatically, Tulin Al-Bakri joins the cast of the series “Saadat Al-Majnoun” under the direction of Saif Sbeii, portraying the character “Amal.” The show also stars Abed Fahd and Sulafa Memar, and it is set to be aired during the upcoming Ramadan season.
