The tragic death of a man in his thirties in Zarqa Governorate, who worked as a barber, following a violent assault inside a barbershop, continues to shock social media in Jordan amid widespread public outrage.

According to eyewitnesses, the perpetrator, a championship-winning boxer, went to the barbershop and requested a haircut from the victim. Exhausted from work, the victim asked him to return the following day. A relative of the victim stated that the situation escalated quickly, as the assailant delivered fatal blows that caused severe internal injuries to the victim’s intestines, ultimately leading to his death.

The eyewitness explained that the attack began after the victim refused to smoke and was asked to leave the barbershop, which provoked the assailant to continue striking him in vital areas, resulting in his death upon arrival at the hospital.

Public Security Statement The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate announced on Saturday that the young man had succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the altercation, which occurred last Wednesday in the Al-Hussein neighborhood. In an official statement received by "Roya TV," he noted that security forces responded immediately after the incident, identified the assailant, and arrested him before transferring the case to the Public Prosecution at the Court of Major Crimes. The prosecution ordered the suspect’s detention at a correctional facility pending investigation.
