Rakeen Saad Stars in "Optional Murder" After It Expands to 30 Episodes The series was originally set to star Yasmin Raeis

In a new step on the Egyptian drama scene, Jordanian actress Rakeen Saad joins the series "Optional Murder", a new project that brings together writer Amin Gamal and director Mohamed Bakir

The series was originally set to premiere during Ramadan 2024, starring Yasmin Raeis in a limited 15-episode format. However, after a temporary production halt due to logistical reasons, the project returned to development with major changes — most notably, the episode count was doubled to 30, and the lead role was reassigned to Rakeen Saad, who will now headline the updated version of the show.

A Remarkable PresenceRakeen Saad, who has established herself as a standout presence in Egyptian drama, returns to the spotlight following her success in the series "Maw’ed Ma’a Al-Madi" (A Date with the Past), which premiered on Netflix in December. She starred alongside a host of well-known actors, including Asser Yassin, Mahmoud Hemida, Sherine Reda, and Huda El Mufti, with a special appearance by Saba Mubarak, under the direction of Al Sadeer Massoud and screenplay by Mohamed Al Masry.

During the most recent Ramadan season, Rakeen also appeared in a guest role in the series "Al-Hashasheen", starring Karim Abdel Aziz, and featuring several prominent actors such as Fathy Abdel Wahab, Nicolas Mouawad, and Mirna Noureldin. The show was written by Abdel Rahim Kamal and directed by Peter Mimi.

With this move, Rakeen Saad opens a new chapter in her artistic journey, leaving her mark on a project that promises rich content and compelling transformations.
