From Gaza to the World: Nadine’s Story Amidst the Bombing

"Where Are We Now" tells the story of Nadine, a young Palestinian woman from Gaza who fled to Egypt three months after the outbreak of war, accompanied by her twin infant daughters, Ilaf and Salaf, born after years of painful waiting.

She is joined by her family, including her parents and seven sisters, while her husband remains stranded in refugee tents, unable to reunite with them until two months later.

The film moves away from dry news reporting to offer a deeply human perspective on the refugees' suffering through a touching story from the heart of war, capturing the details of life, displacement, and silent resistance.

From Cairo Festival to Rotterdam: A Global Resonance for Dorra’s Film

"Where Are We Now" premiered in the Arab Cinema Horizons competition at the 2024 Cairo International Film Festival and subsequently participated in the Carthage Film Festival and several international festivals, reflecting its artistic and humanitarian significance and confirming Dorra’s success in delivering a documentary experience with a cross-border impact.

Dorra Between Acting and Directing: A Multifaceted Presence

Despite her focus on directing and producing, Dorra continues her acting career. Her latest screen appearance was in the Tunisian action-comedy film "Sahbak Rajel," released at the end of 2024, which enjoyed significant audience success.

She is also awaiting the release of the film "Al-Sitt Lama," co-starring with the legendary actress Yousra, written by Kiro Ayman and Mohamed Badawi and directed by Khaled Abu Gharib.

Dorra Paves the Way for Arab Women Behind the Camera

Dorra’s participation in the Rotterdam festival is not only about her personal presence but also serves as an inspiring step toward strengthening the role of Arab women in cinema—not only in front of the camera but also behind it, as a director and content creator telling stories with a powerful, empathetic female voice.
