Syrian actress Mona Wassef expressed her deep frustration over the recurring rumors of her death that occasionally spread across social media, criticizing the speed at which news about her health circulates.

Mona reassured her fans about her health during a TV appearance, saying: “Enough already! Maybe because I’m a little sick, have a cold—they went ahead and killed me!”

She added that she received a large number of phone calls from friends and family members checking on her after the false news of her death spread online.

Wassef pointed out that the repeated circulation of such rumors has become extremely disturbing, especially since some of her family members—including her son—live outside Syria, which causes them great concern.

It is worth mentioning that Mona Wassef’s latest work was the series “Taht Sabe’ Ard” (“Under the Seventh Ground”), which aired on Roya TV during the Ramadan season of 2025.

She starred in the series alongside Taim Hasan, Karis Bashar, Anas Tayara, and others, portraying a new and different character that received wide acclaim and achieved high viewership and significant engagement on social media platforms.
