New Circular Issued by the Head of the Syrian Artists Syndicate

The head of the Syrian Artists’ Syndicate, artist Mazen Al-Natour, has issued an official circular prohibiting any artist from practicing their profession without obtaining prior authorization or a certified contract from the syndicate.
This move is part of a comprehensive reform plan aimed at restoring the syndicate’s prestige and regulating artistic work in the country, amid challenges the syndicate faces in controlling artists and their talents.
The circular, published on the official Facebook page of the Artists’ Syndicate, stated that the Syrian Ministry of Interior expressed full readiness to cooperate with the syndicate in monitoring violations. Any case of illegal practice will be followed up based on an official letter from the syndicate head or an authorized representative from the syndicate’s council or its branches.
Reform Directions
This decision aligns with Mazen Al-Natour’s earlier reform efforts, as he previously expressed his intention to implement positive changes within the syndicate. In a post on his official accounts, he affirmed:
“I promise you that the Syrian Artists’ Syndicate will be a source of pride for every artist who cherishes his country and believes that Syria will return to its position as the vibrant heart of the world.”
