In this episode of the "Unnamed" podcast, we host Miss Palestine Nadine Ayoub for an exclusive interview. She recounts her long journey to becoming the first Miss Palestine and the challenges she faced in achieving this dream.
Nadine reveals details of the years she spent building this project, emphasizing that the title was never a personal achievement, but rather a message representing every Palestinian woman: in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, the occupied territories, and in refugee camps and the diaspora.
She discusses the founding of the "Miss Palestine" organization and how the idea evolved into a platform that opens doors for Palestinian girls to represent Palestine in international beauty pageants. She herself overcame the initial difficulties and paved the way for those who would follow.
The episode also addresses the smear campaigns and rumors targeting her, attempts to question her Palestinian identity and her right to represent Palestine, as well as the pressures and challenges she faced both behind the scenes and in public.
On a personal note, Nadine speaks about the meaning of beauty to her, the responsibility that comes with the crown, and her message to every Palestinian woman who has persevered, struggled, and clung to her identity, emphasizing that true beauty begins with strength, belonging, and determination.
This candid and humane dialogue reveals another side of Nadine Ayoub; the story of a woman who not only wore a crown but also championed a cause, striving to ensure that Palestine"s presence on the world stage becomes a message that transcends the boundaries of the competition.
