Farag faces a severe financial crisis after his resignation, which makes him realize the magnitude of the challenge he is facing. He starts his day with an internal dialogue about how his life has changed, before his wife Samia alerts him to her need to go shopping, and he is surprised that he is no longer in control of the household affairs as he thought. Farag turns to his friend Gamil in a desperate attempt to devise a strict austerity plan, which worries his wife Samia. At the same time, Farag faces a bigger challenge when he finds himself forced to terminate the services of Umm Al-Ezz, the housekeeper, in a scene full of comedy and embarrassment. Things get worse when Farag realizes that he needs to restructure the system in the house, so he decides to distribute the tasks among the family members: Samia will take over the cooking (despite her lack of skill), Ataf will take over the laundry, and Tamer becomes responsible for cleaning the house.
